eSIM vs local viettel sim (i ended up with both lol)

Bought a data only vietnam esim before flying. Worked the second I landed.

But some apps wanted a local number for verification, so I also got a Viettel SIM at the airport. You need your passport to register it.

If you just need data, an esim is easiest. If you want a number, look for a vietnam esim with phone number or just grab a SIM.

Viettel, Vinaphone and Mobifone all fine in the city in my experience.
