About PAPI

PAPI, or PAPI Saigon, is a nightclub at 123 Le Loi, one of District 1's main boulevards. It sits between Ben Thanh Market and Nguyen Hue walking street, so it slots easily into an evening in the city centre. According to the club's Instagram it is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10pm and closed on Mondays.

Atmosphere and music

Local club listings describe a hip-hop, EDM and house programme, with guest DJs at the weekend, and put capacity at around 300. The club's Instagram is the best place to see what is on, with a run of stylish posters for recurring and one-off nights:

• Every Wednesday: Not Your Baby, a ladies night (the poster promises free-flow drinks for women)
• Time Machine: a nostalgia night built on songs everyone knows
• Seasonal specials such as Black Tuesday and a Halloween costume party

How it works and what it costs

As at most Saigon clubs, you can order at the bar or reserve a table and order bottles. We could not find table prices published by the venue itself. As a general rule for District 1 clubs, table minimum spends start in the millions of dong and VAT plus service are added on top, so ask for current prices before you commit. Address: 123 Le Loi, District 1. From the Ben Thanh Market roundabout, walk a few minutes along Le Loi towards the river. Ben Thanh metro station is also close by.

Tips

• Arrive before midnight if you want a spot near the dance floor.
• Smart casual or better; skip the shorts and flip-flops.
• Entry is 18+ only, so bring ID.
• Confirm the minimum spend and whether tax is included before ordering.
• Take drinks only from staff, keep an eye on your glass, and use an app taxi home.
