metro line 1 is underrated for getting to thao dien

The ho chi minh metro line 1 opened Dec 2024. Runs Ben Thanh to Suoi Tien, 14 stations.

Single tickets are roughly 7k to 20k VND depending on distance. There's also a day pass around 40k and a 3 day pass around 90k.

An Phu and Thao Dien stations are handy for D2. Way nicer than sitting in traffic on the bridge at 6pm.

Cool and clean too, which in October counts for a lot.

    rode it end to end just for fun. the elevated part over the river is a nice view
